I apologize for the late post, but this week has been crazy! We are trying to get in all of the required tests that are due in January. We have finished the 2nd math CFA test and results have been sent home or can be viewed on Pearson. We have started 2 sections of the Language Arts CFA and will finish on Tuesday. We will also be taking the district's math fluency test next week. The district's reading fluency test is on January 20. Please have your student practicing math facts and and reading aloud accurately to prepare for these. Your student has also written their first 5 paragraph essay. Ask them what they thought of all that writing! Book reports are due on Friday.
Math: We have finished long division and are moving on to fractions for the next 3 topics. This is usually the most difficult topic for 4th graders. Please use Pearson online or the math book for help if needed. I am also able to help a little before or after school on certain days, if needed, if you or your child asks. We did lesson 1 today. Monday 11-2, Tuesday 11-3, Wednesday 11-4, Thursday 11-5 and Friday 11-6. If your child is absent, they are still required to learn the lesson online at home.
Language Arts: We are starting Unit 4 and are halfway through our Reading Street curriculum. We will be practicing comparing and contrasting for our reading strategy this week. Spelling is on contractions. We will continue to practice writing by comparing and contrasting.
Science: Rocks and Soil- there will be a vocabulary quiz coming up at the end of the week in English
French: articles, writing
Homework: read 20 min/night, spelling, worksheet, Reflex math, recorders, Pearson (if needed)
***We will be switching classes again Monday. The purple class will start with Mrs. Hysong and end with Melle. Rigler and the Blue class will start with Melle. Rigler and end with Mrs. Hysong. Have a great week!
