Thanks to all the parents who helped with the Halloween Carnival and in my classroom this week!  The weather is starting to get colder, so please make sure your child dresses appropriately.  Students will not be allowed to stay inside from recess simply because they forgot a jacket.

Math: We will be starting Topic 7: multiplying by 2-digit numbers.  The next 7 topics is where fact fluency is really going to make a difference on how difficult math will be.  If your child doesn't know their facts fluently, please make sure they are on Reflex math each day as part of their afternoon routine.  We will also be taking the first math CFA this week Tuesday.
Language Arts: We are reading "So You Want to be President."  Our reading strategy is main idea and details.  We are also integrating weather into our Language Arts to review in English.  Students will be coming home with a science weather packet this week and will be tested on the science vocabulary next week.
French:  Finishing up "Strange Stories" and incorporating adjectives and description into writing,  Interrogative Sentences
Science: Finishing up the Weather Unit
Homework: spelling, vocabulary, read 20 min/night, math page, Reflex math and use the available resources that your child most needs (Pearson, keyboarding, Kidblog etc).  I had to take KBK off of my blog because the district wants to be sure they are practicing keyboarding the correct way.  When your student is typing, please make sure they are using the correct fingers and have good posture.
Volunteers- Tuesday and Thursday 8:20-9:00, 1:30-2:00 and anytime on Fridays.  You can always pop-in either classroom to see if there are things to do or set up a schedule with us.
Have a great week!
