We had a great time on our field trips last week!  We saw many varieties of birds, bison, pronghorn and caught brine shrimp.  Thank you to the volunteers who helped us chaperone the students!
We have another field trip on Monday, September 22.  Please have your student dress up a little bit out of respect for the performers in the symphony.  Parent volunteers: after you check into the office, please meet in Mrs. Hysong's class.

Parent-teacher conferences: Sign up for a time to meet with us on Butlers' website (online scheduler) until Sept. 30.  The first conference this year will be without students, so that Melle Rigler can speak to you in English.
Math: we are working on topic 3: place value, and we will be testing on this short topic already on Friday.  There are lessons available online on Pearson for review (3.3, 3.4, 3. 5, 3.6 and test Friday).
Language Arts: paragraph writing and summaries, main idea and details
Science: first lesson of weather topic: the clouds
French: the difference between present and past tense, Describe a person, and first approach of how to use a dictionary
Homework: read 20 minutes each night, math page, reflex math (Many students are struggling in math facts and it will really start to effect their grades in about another month when the math topics get more difficult.  Please have your student do Reflex or flash cards each day if they can't recite a math fact (0-12) in 5 seconds- I've heard great things about this program! (keep flashcards in the car).
Have a great week!
