We got right back into learning and had our cause and effect Reading Street Test today. We are also working on fractions in math. Many of the students appear to be a little overwhelmed with fractions, especially with the number line lesson today. Please make sure they go on Pearson to watch the lessons for additional help at home. We will have a few review days before the test next week Friday, but this is where there is a really big jump from math in 3rd grade to 4th grade and it does get difficult for many students.
The district reading fluency test is next week Monday in the afternoon. Please have your child reading aloud at home and working on reading fluently (103 words per minute, 98% accurate and smoothly with expression). The 8-minute math fluency test will be in a week or two, so keep up on Reflex math also.
If you would like to volunteer with reading with students, please go here: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0c4eada62ba3f94-4thgrade
