SAGE testing begins next week. I have sent home a homework packet today that reviews some Language Arts concepts. I would recommend working on parts of it this weekend and Monday even though it's not due until Friday. Please make sure your child gets a good night sleep and eats well before taking tests.
To sign up to read with students and work on fluency, go to: www.SignUpGenius.com/go/10C0C4EADA62BA3F94-parent
The end-of-year testing times will be:
4/28- ELA 1, 4/29- ELA 2, 4/30- ELA 3
5/5- Math 1, 5/6- Math 2
5/7- Reading fluency test (benchmark is 136 words/minute)
5/12- Science 1, 5/13- Science 2
You can go onto Sageportal.org to take practice SAGE tests. Research has shown that the more comfortable a child is with the format, the better they will perform on it. Your child should know how.
Math: We will continue with geometry on Topic 16. This is mostly memorizing vocabulary. I have sent home a yellow page with half of the geometry words on it to memorize. The second sheet will come home this coming week. Making flashcards would help in memorizing these words. The lessons will be up on Pearson also for review.
Language Arts: We took the weekly test yesterday and won't be doing too much with Language this week as we have the SAGE Language Arts test.
Science: Review and test on the environment on Friday
French: comics
Homework: read 20 min./night (aloud), spelling, homework packet, Reflex math, Pearson, recorders
Donations: raffle reward prizes
Have a great week!
