I hope you all had a great Spring Break last week!  We are back working hard and have only a couple weeks left until spring testing starts.  The last reading fluency test will be on May 7.  Please have your child reading aloud a few minutes every day to be ready for this.  The benchmark is 136 words/minute.  We also have our last math fluency test coming up, which Reflex math will help with if they consistently are using it.

The end-of-year testing times will be:
4/28- ELA 1, 4/29- ELA 2, 4/30- ELA 3
5/5- Math 1, 5/6- Math 2
5/7- Reading fluency test (benchmark is 136 words/minute)
5/12- Science 1, 5/13- Science 2
You can go onto Sageportal.org to take practice SAGE tests.  Research has shown that the more comfortable a child is with the format, the better they will perform on it.  Your child should know how.

Math: We have a quiz on Friday on area and perimeter and we will finish up Topic 15 on Monday with line plots (15-4).  We will have a quiz on line plots on Tuesday and then start up our last Topic: Geometry.  I will have the lessons on Pearson for review.
Language Arts: We took our Unit 5 CFA test today.  You can see the results on Pearson and a grade sheet will go home tomorrow.  The students did not do as well as I was hoping, and I'm noticing that some grades are falling.  Please encourage your children to end the year strong and keep working hard.  We will start Unit 6 next week.
Science: Finishing up Environment
Homework: read 20 minutes/night (aloud), spelling, math sheets, Reflex math, Pearson, recorders
Donations: raffle reward prizes
