This week we had our first review week and Reading CFA test (the large 40 question test).  I broke the test up into 3 parts, but many students still had a difficult time with it.  They will be correcting their mistakes in class on Monday.  Please remind them to take their time! 
Math: we will finish up adding/subtracting with a test on Wednesday and then start the next topic of multiplying 1-digit numbers.  Please review rounding at home.
Keyboarding: KBK is now up and running.  There is a link to it on my blog (hysong4.blogspot.com).  The user name and password are both butler and their student IDs are their passwords.  Students need to pass each lesson off (match the goal listed) before moving onto a new lesson.  Please encourage them to use correct finger positioning.
Book reports: due the end of the month.  The instructions are on the class website (link on my blog) under documents.
Science: Weather
Social Studies: Utah
Writing: opinion paragraphs
Box Tops! - we have a grade level competition to see who can bring in the most.  The winning grade gets an ice cream party.  
Homework: spelling, vocabulary, read 20 min./night and reflex math and KBK.  There is no homework due back in class due to parent-teacher conferences.
Reflection forms are in the office if you are interested- due Dec. 4.
Volunteers may come in at any time or may schedule time with either of us.  We always have small group instruction time 8:30-9 and 1:30-2  on Tuesdays and Thursdays if you want to come in and work on reading or math with the students. 
Donations: dry/erase markers, puzzles (150-300 pieces), raffle prizes
