We have gotten through our first math and Reading Street tests!  The tests should have gone home today.  If your student didn't do well on a section, please have them review it on Pearson.  

Next week is our field trip to the Great Salt Lake.  The purple class will go on Wednesday, Sept. 9 and the blue class will go on Thursday, Sept. 10.  It is a one hour drive each way to Antelope Island by bus.  If your child gets car sick, please either drive them there yourself, give them some medication before we leave to help them, or keep them at home that day.  Please also let us know, so we can be prepared for possible consequences.

Because it is such a long ride, we allow students to bring an electronic device from home with parental approval.  It must stay on the bus at all times and not make any sounds (either no volume or bring headphones/ear buds).  They may also bring other things to do such as a book, game, playing cards etc.  They will need to wear shorts or pants that they can pull up to wade in the lake, a towel, suntan lotion or hat, water bottle and lunch if they didn't order from the school. 

Math: We started Topic 2 today.  Friday 2-2, next week lessons 3, 4 and 5 (maybe 6).  Test the following week.
Language Arts: Fluency test next week Tuesday, We are starting Unit 1, week 4- Our focus is on author's purpose.   Writing: summaries.
Science: Water cycle
Homework: spelling, math sheet, vocabulary, read 20 min./night, and any other needed practice (Reflex math, read aloud, Pearson, keyboarding etc).
Donations: hand sanitizer and raffle reward prizes
